If you tuned into BBC One or social media last night you will have seen one of the greatest things to ever happen on live television. While Gary Lineker was hosting coverage of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ FA Cup third round replay against Liverpool at Molineux, the presenter was suddenly interrupted by a porn noise that blew up the internet.
Lineker didn’t know what to do but maintained his professionalism to carry on as normal despite wanting to burst into uncontrollable laughter. It got even funnier when during the match itself Alan Shearer joked about the sound emanating from Danny Murphy’s phone.
It was a moment that will go down in history as one of the greatest pranks of all time and YouTuber Daniel ‘Jarvo’ Jarvis has already claimed responsibility for it.
It is not the first time that pranking has found its way into football. Here are some of the all-time classics.
