An incredible ten red cards were shown by World Cup referee Facundo Tello after a fight erupted during Boca Juniors’ Trophy of Champions defeat to Racing Club.
Carlos Alcaraz lit the fuse for the explosive melee with his match-winning goal celebration in front of the Boca Juniors supporters.
With the game locked at 1-1 in the final minute of extra time, Alcaraz popped up to fire a header into the corner to win the game for Racing.

His excessive celebration in front of the opposition supporters enraged the Boca players who then grabbed Alcaraz by the ear and threw the ball at him.
Match official Tello dished out a red card to Alcaraz and five were shown to Boca players following the scuffle. Over the course of the match, seven Boca players received red cards while Racing saw three players sent their marching orders.
Boca opened the scoring at the Estadio Parque La Pedrera in the 19th minute when Armenian international Norberto Briasco found the back of the net with a left-footed strike. It was just a matter of moments before Racing levelled the scoreline thanks to Matias Rojas’ incredible finish from long range.
With both teams struggling to find a breakthrough as the game wore on, things got heated on the pitch. There was a coming together between Boca’s Sebastian Villa and Racing’s Johan Carbonero.
Tello proved that he was not standing for any nonsense and sent both off the field to take premature shower. The official then handed Racing an advantage when he dismissed Alan Varela early in extra time.
Racing made sure it didn’t go to waste with Alcaraz’s last-gasp finish to claim their first trophy in three years. As he was sent off in the brawl that followed, he was joined by his teammate Jonathan Galvan.
As for Boca's late dismissals, Luis Advincula, Carlos Zambrano, Diego Gonzalez, Frank Fabra and Dario Benedetto were all told to take their leave of the pitch as they were left with just four players in the final moments. Surprisingly, the game was able to go the distance.
