PSG Star Kylian Mbappe Shows Real Madrid What Could Have Been

Real Madrid supporters are desperate for the club to make a blockbuster signing to replace the gaping hole left by Cristiano Ronaldo, but one man they won’t be getting is France’s World Cup star Kylian Mbappe who came off the bench to bag a match-winning brace in PSG’s 3-1 win over Guingamp.

Mbappe has previously been linked with a stunning switch to Spain, however a move is unlikely to occur anytime soon after the 19-year-old made his move to Paris permanent in a stonking £159 million move from Monaco.

PSG’s number seven missed the club’s 4-0 hammering of his former club Monaco in their Trophee des Champions triumph earlier this month, and was also absent from their opening weekend 3-0 victory over Caen as he recovered from his exploits at the World cup.

Upon his return to the squad he had to settle for a place on the bench for the club’s trip to Guingamp. With PSG surprisingly a goal down Mbappe was introduced to the field, and he went on to show he had no World Cup hangover as he notched a blistering brace in the final eight minutes to seal a 3-1 victory for the defending champions after Neymar had earlier scored a penalty after the break.

The rapid forward subsequently became the first teenager in 45 years to propel his tally to-and-then past 30 Ligue 1 goals. He previously fired in 15 in his second season for Monaco, who went on to win the league, then 13 on loan for PSG last term, with the Paris club also triumphing in the league.

PSG are unsurprisingly the scorching hot 1/9 favourites to go on and claim their eighth Ligue 1 crown, however it’s the Champions League which remains their focal point, with Thomas Tuchel’s men hovering around the 7/1 make to reach the summit of Europe’s showcase tournament.
