Thierry Henry’s time as manager of Monaco came to a quick end and it has now been revealed how badly things went wrong for him near the end of his tenure. The former Arsenal man was only in charge of the club for a short 20 games, but he only managed to win four of them bringing a swift end to his reign in charge of the Ligue 1 club.
Monaco amazingly are second from bottom in the French First Division and in serious danger of being relegated having won the league just eighteen months ago under Leonardo Jardim. Now he could be set to make a surprise return to the south coast and attempt to save them from the drop.
Goal France, as reported by The Mirror, were told by a current Monaco player who remains anonymous, that he humiliated one of their teammates:
"A few matches ago, he screamed: 'He, he is supposed to be worth €10m?' All of the substitutes heard. The message he sent to the players was very negative."
"He would speak badly to the players, it is a fact.
"He would also make examples of people and that annoyed a lot of people, he gave this haughty impression as if he would not consider anyone else’s opinion."
Monaco suspended Henry two days ago but he looks unlikely to return after a series of complaints against his name. Last weekend, during the 5-1 home defeat against Strasbourg he was pulled up and apologised for calling Kenny Lala’s grandmother a whore.
Not the best start to life in management for Thierry...
