Massimo Allegri Picks Out One Team That Could Prevent Juventus From Champions League Glory This Season

Juventus are one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season and boasting attacking talent such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, any team will have a tough time knocking them out over two legs.

They have made an unbeaten start tot the season in all competitions, winning all three of their Champions League ties, including one game at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

This excellent start to the season has seen Allegri’s popularity grow further and his side are now 6/1 to taste Champions League glory in May. That would signal an incredible six Champions League titles for Cristiano Ronaldo who is looking to win the tournament with three separate clubs, as Clarence Seedorf did. Ronaldo has of course already tasted success with Manchester United and Real Madrid and is now searching for glory in Italy.

Now Allegri has spoken out about who are his sides main challengers for European glory this season. He told journalists at an Adidas event:

“The Champions League? To improve on what we’ve done so far there’s only one to do, win it. But we need to be careful of Barcelona, they’re a strong contender and they can go deep. This is a competition that changes in March: at that point, we’ll need some luck and a healthy squad”

He also, unsurprisingly believes that his star man deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this season.“The Champions League? To improve on what we’ve done so far there’s only one to do, win it. But we need to be careful of Barcelona, they’re a strong contender and they can go deep. This is a competition that changes in March: at that point we’ll need some luck and a healthy squad”
