It seems like there’s an orderly queue forming to exit Old Trafford amid the current turmoil surrounding the club. Player frustration seems to be boiling over as much as fans’, and now the odds are clear that a mass exodus seems to be on the way.
Incredibly, four Manchester United players could finally be set to leave the club in January, according to Ladbrokes, after seemingly becoming disillusioned with the direction the Red Devils are going under current manager Jose Mourinho.
As club tensions, the bookies place Paul Pogba the frontrunner as the likeliest man to leave when the transfer window reopens at 4/6. Meanwhile, fellow Frenchman Antony Martial is placed second at 2/1, with 3/1 and 5/1 on offer for Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford to move.
In the current market value pricing, that means a total of £260million worth of United talent could be making their way out of the door (transfermarkt).
In total so far this season, the four players have contributed just five goals between them - that’s one less than current Premier League top goalscorer Eden Hazard of Chelsea.
As for the manager, Jose Mourinho is now just a 1/3 shot to leave the club before Christmas and as previously reported by The Sportsman, there’s a interesting name in the frame to replace the beleaguered Portuguese.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes has commented on the recent furore, encapsulated by the demoralising loss to West Ham United this weekend at the London Stadium, ”It seems there's never been a better time to play Man United and as results continue to go against them, it's looking increasingly likely a handful of players will move on.”
The 29-year-old Sanchez only arrived at the club at the beginning of the year but has failed to match the swag he displayed at former side Arsenal. Pogba’s arrival alongside Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2016 was meant to herald a new era at the club, bringing back the successes of the Ferguson years. That has so far failed to come into fruition.
The 20-year-old Rashford had the hopes of adoring fans on his shoulders with his echoes of Class of ’92, and whilst it was once thought unimaginable for the Wythenshawe lad to play for another club besides his boyhood one, the bookies suggest at 5/1 to move on it could distinctly happen.
