Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Yerry Mina according to new reports today.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the Old Trafford team have agreed terms with the Barcelona star, although no fee between the clubs has been agreed.
Mina hit the headlines during the World Cup with a series of impressive performances and it now appears as if Manchester United are in pole position to secure his services this summer.
Mina has failed to settle in Barcelona with the Catalan club now looking happy to part with a player who only joined them back in January.
Jose Mourinho has been linked with a host of centre-backs this summer including Toby Alderweirald and Harry Maguire but it now appears as if Mina is the chosen one, if this latest story is true.
The Portuguese Manager has appeared miserable during pre-season with regards to United's transfer business but his mood could lighten if Mina can be secured before the window closes next week.
United are clearly short in defensive areas with long term doubts over the quality of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, whilst Eric Bailly appeared to fall out of favour with Mourinho during the second half of last season.
Mina arrived at Barcelona with a big reputation as potential superstar but he has failed to break into the La Liga Champions starting team and a move away from Spain could suit all parties. The 23-year-old impressed in a Columbia shirt with his size and athleticism particularly eye catching and United fans will be hoping he is the answer to their problems in defence.
