Croatian winger Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request at Inter Milan amid reports that Arsenal are interested in the player.
Sky Sports in Italy says that the player is determined to force a move in the current transfer window
The 29-year-old could be stopped from leaving the club on loan despite Inter have made it known they would rather do a permanent deal for a player who has previously been linked with Manchester United. Sacked United boss Jose Mourinho was a big admirer of Perisic, a player whose market value could be as much as £34.5million.
Inter Milan director Guiseppe Marotta said: "Perisic has asked to leave but there is no suitable offer for him. We will see in the coming days.
"We will listen to the request of Perisic, he has put in a transfer request; we must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him."
Perisic was one of the star players for Croatia during last year's World Cup campaign as they reached the final, ultimately beaten by France having seen off England in the semi-finals.
He has not been able to continue his international form at club level, scoring just three times in 22 appearances.
Unai Emery is in the market for a winger but he has stated recently that the club could be limited in its transfer activity due to a lack of funds. Loan moves may be the only solution for Arsenal who were knocked out of the FA Cup last Friday.
