It's like 1996 all over again across England as football fans blurt out "IT'S COMING HOME!" at any opportunity, and now even the England Manager is getting in on the act.
Gareth Southgate is reaching god like levels of popularity at home and in Russia amongst the fans, and he was the conductor of the audience as he celebrated the 2-0 win over Sweden in the World Cup quarter-final on Saturday afternoon.
Southgate was in the middle of the It's Coming Home hysteria the first time round during Euro 96 and few would have bet he would be the man at the centre of the action once again 22 years later.
We all know how it ended at Wembley Stadium in 1996 and England fans will be praying for a happier ending when they play in the semi-final on Wednesday evening.
The former Middlesbrough Manager has managed to turn a bunch of unheralded England youngsters into a team many believe are capable of going all the way to World Cup glory.
Much of that success has been down to the ability of the team to come closer to the fans and Southgate himself has done just that after the big game wins. The Manager was in front of the England fans after the Sweden win and was more than happy to lap up the it's coming home chant, which was loudly being sung from the stands by the over excited England faithful.
Gareth believes, the fans believe, now it is time for the players to finish the job.
IT'S COMING HOME!
@England are into a #WorldCup semi-final!
