Manchester United fan Adrian Bolger hit the jackpot when he discovered that he had won The Sportsman’s Perfect 10 competition and £10,000 to boot. The Sportsman also threw in tickets to see his beloved team play at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final against Spurs, and that is where we caught up with him.
When asked about how he felt he said: “Ecstatic, over the moon, spent it already! We’re going on holiday, sorting the house out and have bought a few things for the house, this that and the other.”
Despite all of the tweets he was receiving from The Sportsman and his friends, Adrian was tucked up in bed, none the wiser to the £10k that was soon to land in his bank account.
“I was in bed, went to bed and didn’t even look at the results, then I’ve woken up in the morning and my phone, my Twitter has gone mental, loads of people tweeting me and this that and the other, and I was thinking, no, surely not. It wasn’t til I checked it I was like phew, was jumping around in my kitchen at 6 o’clock in the morning! Fantastic!”
It turned out to be a perfect day for Adrian, as United edged past Tottenham 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera, to book their place in the FA Cup final.
Adrian has his mates to thank for getting him to play the Perfect 10, he says: “I’m on a WhatsApp group with some mates of mine, Alec, Craig, Paul and John, he put a link on the WhatsApp saying have a go at this lads, so we all joined a little mini-league and had a go this season.”
Adrian still plays the game hoping for another win and encourages everyone else to get involved and give it a go!
“I like the way you can pick your winners, it is dead easy and of course it is free of charge, happy days!”
