Where has this season gone? It feels like yesterday we were witnessing Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli scoring the opening goal of the Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace back in August. But here we are, into matchday 37, or Gameweek 37 for Fantasy Premier League managers.
There are now just two weeks left for bosses to try and win their mini leagues or chase the worldwide crown that every manager dreams of before a ball is kicked. And for the penultimate Gameweek of the season we have the last double header with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion all playing twice.
With this in mind, here are The Sportsman’s three tips for your FPL side this week.
Gundogan Time Is Here
A lot has been said about how much Ilkay Gundogan comes alive for Manchester City at the end of the season. The captain was last year’s hero on the final day at Aston Villa to help Pep Guardiola’s side secure a second consecutive league title as he scored twice in the space of five minutes.

Last weekend, the German netted twice against Everton with two stunning goals, which has helped his side move one game closer to securing a third successive Premier League title. He also registered an assist to tee up Erling Haaland as his side recorded a commanding 3-0 win against the struggling Toffees
The 32-year-old’s future is up in the air as it remains to be seen if he will get a new deal at the Etihad Stadium or move on, with Barcelona heavily linked with an approach. Gundogan is playing as much for a new contract as he is to generate options for a new home in the summer, so he is out to impress.
With Chelsea (H) and Brighton (A) on his to-do list this week, £7.4m might be a worthy investment for his services.
Eze Pickings
Eberechi Eze is having a strong finish to the season alongside his Crystal Palace teammates. The midfielder has been involved in seven goals in the eight games that Roy Hodgson has overseen since returning to manage the Eagles.
Last time out he scored a brace against AFC Bournemouth and his form of late has been catching the eye of England boss Gareth Southgate.
Palace travel to west London to face Fulham on Saturday at Craven Cottage and the form that Eze is in at the moment, he could be in for another impactful afternoon. He is available at a shrewd £5.6m.
Wilson Is On Fire
Callum Wilson can’t stop scoring for Newcastle United as the Magpies are looking to secure their place in the Champions League for next season. The former AFC Bournemouth forward has scored eight goals in his last six appearances in the top flight, making him one of the most in-form strikers in the division.
Next up for Newcastle is a tussle with relegation-threatened Leicester City on Monday. After their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at the King Power Stadium last time out, a trip to St James’ Park might be quite overwhelming for the struggling Foxes, particularly facing Wilson in the form he is in. The forward is available for £7.2m.
