Did everyone have a gluttonous Christmas? If you are sitting back still digesting the amount of food and drink you’ve consumed, it’s time to snap back into action with Fantasy Premier League. The Boxing Day fixtures provided great drama, and there is no rest for the wicked as the top flight returns with two Premier League matches on Friday night. Here’s our three tips for green arrows.
Rashford impossible to ignore
We already picked him out as one to include in your wildcard, but now, Marcus Rashford is a must have in your FPL teams. He returned from the World Cup with a 14 point haul, including a goal and an assist against Nottingham Forest and looks set to spearhead Erik ten Hag’s attack for the remainder of the season.
They look far better now Cristiano Ronaldo has left the building and although Bruno Fernandes is a tempting option, Rashford is the main man. At just £6.7m, and with Wolves and Bournemouth to come over the next two gameweeks, it is time to join the 29.2% of managers that already own him.

Go for Mitrovic over Toney
Two strikers that found the net and rose in price this week caught the eye for FPL managers, as Ivan Toney and Aleksandar Mitrovic made their cases for a place in your team. However, if there is only room for one of them, we recommend going for the Fulham man at £6.9m.
As the betting allegations still hang over Toney’s head, we still await the decision to see whether or not he will face a suspension. For now he is clear to play, but he faces West Ham (A) and Liverpool (H) over the next two games. Meanwhile Mitrovic, who bagged 15 points against Crystal Palace, faces Southampton at home and Leicester away - two games where he could add to that hefty points tally.
The cheaper option seems to be the better one in this case, with Erling Haaland and potentially Harry Kane taking up the other two slots up front. In terms of balancing the squad, that extra £0.6m could be crucial.
Can Leeds United find form?
Given Southampton didn’t look convincing in their home game against Brighton, it is time to look elsewhere for those potential differentials. Leeds United have some great fixtures coming up now they have navigated that Man City game, with West Ham, Aston Villa, Brentford and Nottingham Forest all to come over the next month.
So which Leeds stars could make it into our teams? Rodrigo at £6.3m caught the eye earlier in the season and could hit top form when he returns to fitness. Patrick Bamford is another who could return to action in January as Leeds’ main man and at £7.2m and 0.4% ownership he could be a key differential.
Brenden Aaronsen is just £5.5m and if several Leeds players return from injury as expected over the next few weeks, they could see a sharp upturn in results under Jesse Marsch.
