Here we are, Gameweek 16, the last round of Fantasy Premier League before the season halts for the World Cup in Qatar.
FPL fanatics have one last chance to attempt a gargantuan points haul before the mid-season break. Managers across the world gave a huge sigh of relief when Erling Haaland stepped up and converted from the spot to hand Manchester City a hard-fought three points against Fulham last weekend after starting the game on the bench.

With one last push to try and head into the World Cup break at the top of your mini league, The Sportsman once again delivers three tips to help make sure you go into the mid-season break content with your efforts.
The Firing Foxes
There has been a significant upturn in form from Leicester City in recent weeks, winning four out of their last seven. Everyone has been singing the praises of star man James Maddison (£8.2m), but there are other Leicester assets who have also been racking up points of late.
Maddison assisted both Youri Tielemans (£6.3m) and Harvey Barnes (£6.9m) in the Foxes’ 2-0 victory at Everton last time out. Tielemans scored a goal-of-the-season contender with a beautiful volley, similar to a goal he scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers only a few weeks prior.
The Belgian has now scored twice in his last three appearances which could make him a shrewd addition as Leicester travel to West Ham United this Saturday. Barnes himself has scored five goals this term, with three of them coming in his last five. The winger has been getting plenty of chances in recent weeks and against the Hammers, you’d expect him to get a few more.
Exciting Eagles
When you look for a Crystal Palace player to deliver you decent points returns on a relatively consistent basis, you will always turn to Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m). And rightly so, the Ivorian attacker, who is registered as a midfielder on FPL this season, has scored the most points for Patrick Vieira’s side (64).
But if you do not have the funds to add him to your ranks, Eberechi Eze (£5.7m) and Michael Olise (£5.4m) could be decent alternatives. Both are extremely creative players and have also had a hand in the goals this term. Eze has scored two and assisted three, while Olise has scored one and assisted two.
With Palace facing struggling Nottingham Forest this weekend, bringing in one of their attacking stars could pay dividends and help you leapfrog your FPL rivals.
Is Salah Back To His Best?
On Sunday, Liverpool’s talisman Salah (£12.7m) scored twice in his side’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Both goals were exquisite and it was like we were watching the player, who has been scoring for fun over the last few years, back at his very best.
The Egyptian is now on six goals for the season, low considering his exceptionally high standards, but it looks like he is slowly rediscovering his best form and now might be the time to get him in your FPL side.
The Reds host managerless Southampton on Saturday and this might give Salah the chance to have a field day against a team low on confidence in the bottom three.
