EXCLUSIVE: KSI Throws Down Boxing Challenge For Manchester United Legend
11:43, 21 Aug 2018

In an exclusive interview with The Sportsman, Britain’s biggest YouTuber KSI has revealed that he plans to take on Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand in a boxing match, when he beats Logan Paul this weekend.

Ferdinand, who played over 300 games for United, was foiled in his attempt to become a boxer after the British Boxing Board of Control denied him a license. The 39-year-old went on his boxing adventure for eight months under the ‘Defender to Contender challenge’ and was heavily back by bookmakers Betfair.

Unfortunately, that never materialised but he could be called into the ring by YouTube sensation KSI after the Logan Paul fight, which KSI expects to win. JJ, as is his real name, is also open to the possibility of turning professional and would love to beat a professional boxer.

When speaking exclusively to the Sportsman ahead of the fight, KSI was thinking about his plans for the future saying: “If my bro (Deji) doesn’t beat Jake Paul then I’d love to fight Jake Paul, it would be good to beat Adam Saleh but I don't know if he would be worth cos that would be a downgrade really if not then after that, if I can't get any of those guys then Rio Ferdinand would be cool I know he wanted to go pro and for some reason that didn't happen and if that doesn't work then f*ck it I’ll go pro man, let me try go pro.

I think that would be a huge story, a FIFA gamer YouTuber turns pro and beats a professional boxer with about a year and abit of training. I think that would be unreal.”

With just one fight under his belt and his second one to come this weekend, KSI certainly has high ambitions, but looking at what he has achieved in his career so far, anything is possible.
