The EFL Trophy draw has been made and we know which of the 16 Premier League U21s sides that the teams from across League One and League Two will be facing in 2023-24.
Bolton Wanderers were crowned the 2022-23 champions after they dispatched League One champions Plymouth Argyle 3-0 at Wembley Stadium. They comprise an interesting group with League Two promotion chasers Stockport County and Salford City - the 2020 EFL Trophy winners.
They will be competing against Manchester United's Under-21s which geographically is perfect for all four teams. Not to mention the connection between Manchester United and Salford's owners including Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt. It is certainly the most exciting group from the draw.
