Wigan Warriors will face Leeds Rhinos in the final round of Betfred Wheelchair Super League fixtures on Saturday, with both clubs still in with a shot of winning the League Leaders' Shield. And The Sportsman is pleased to announce that the match will be screened live and exclusively on our channels.
The crucial clash is the latest high-profile fixture to be streamed on The Sportsman's platforms as part of a 20-game package announced for 2022 between the Rugby Football League and the popular website.
Leeds head into the match knowing that a win will be enough to ensure they finish top of the table going into the end-of-season play-offs, but a Wigan win would give the Warriors an outside chance of finishing first instead. The home side, though, would need London Roosters to record their first win of the season's second phase, at home to Halifax Panthers, in order to finish above Halifax.
The Rhinos go into the final encounter as favourites, with player-coach James Simpson's five-try display in the 60-22 victory over London last time out giving them a one-point advantage at the top of the league. That result came as a huge boost to Leeds after they had suffered their first defeat of Phase 2 to Halifax in their previous fixture, going down to a surprise 79-46 home defeat.
The match at Robin Park Arena gets underway at 11:45am BST, with coverage beginning on thesportsman.com and The Sportsman Rugby League on YouTube at 11:30.
