The fridge is stocked, the controllers are fully charged and that shiny widescreen TV is glowing.
The gamer in 2020 is now ready for the release of the next generation consoles and whether you are loyal to PlayStation or Xbox, there is one aspect of gaming that often goes unnoticed. Your loyal chair. Enough of your mum’s kitchen chair or that sofa that sags in the middle - proper gaming requires a proper chair. Luckily enough, there are now a range of top quality gaming chairs out there, so we’ve put together a top five ahead of the release of both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X in November.
Secret Lab Titan SoftWeave
The name befitting of the chair. As a critical part of your gaming setup you need your chair to be comfortable yet stylish. The SoftWeave fabric gives the look of leather but allows the chair to stand out from the crowd while the adjustability means that this will fit your body perfectly, no matter your shape of size. This is the Bentley of gaming chairs, which means it is premium, but doesn’t come cheap. If you are serious about gaming however, the £429 price tag could be a worthwhile investment.
Secret Lab Omega
Those guys at Secret Lab are at it again with the Omega. Their brand is synonymous with quality which means from the armrests to the upholstery this chair provides a touch of class to your gaming setup. The company’s PU Leather 2.0 is durable yet good looking and if you want your chair to be leather rather than SoftWeave, this is the one for you, providing you have the budget. Slightly cheaper than the Titan SoftWeave above, this one comes in at £299, but could elevate you to the next level.
NZXT x Vertagear SL5000
This chair is the comfort king. If you are prone to a dodgy neck or tense back when injury time in FIFA 21 hits, this is the perfect chair to correct your posture. For those long sessions in front of the screen, nothing will give you more support and comfort than the NZXT x Vertagear SL5000. With dual cushions to support your lumbar and cervical spines, the chair is completely adjustable, allowing you to sink into your perfect position. You can pick this one up for around £310.
UMI Essentials
If you are looking for a top gaming chair but don’t want to spend northwards of £200, Amazon could have the solution for you. It may not boast the premium materials or flashy looks of its more expensive competitors but what this chair offers is support and comfort, for a fraction of the price. Retailing at £160, almost half the price of those above, it is adjustable and comes with neck support. A great option for those on a budget.
Arozzi Verona Junior
The perfect chair for kids, or just those adults lacking in the height department, if you are looking for an early Christmas present for the little ones this could be ideal. Moulded to any age humans up to the height of 5 ft 2 in, this will provide perfect support for them as they while away in front of the screen. This smaller chair will allow individuals to maintain their natural spine posture and avoid being hunched over, with the support coming at the bottom of the spine. An excellent chair for those of us not blessed with the gift of height. Priced at £199.10, you can get this one in either blue, red, black or white.
